An empirical evaluation of ATR-FTIR-PLS for the determination of total aflatoxins in food grains and poultry feed and populations' exposure risks assessment in Malaysia and Nigeria

Description
A total of 224 dilutions of Mixed aflatoxin standard solution were prepared in (a) 75% methanol solvent (112 samples) and (b) 100% acetonitrile solvent (112 samples). Each dilution set ( a and b) contains 16 concentration levels ranging from 0 to 90 ng per ml of the mix aflatoxin standard solution.
ATR-FTIR spectra of both dilution sets were collected. The various absorbance with respective wavenumber was recorded. Data were analysed using MINITAB 18 statistical software; a PLS model was developed and validated using the data.
