Couples Transitioning into Parenthood [CTiP]

The study included a randomized controlled trial (RCT) initiated at T1. In the intervention condition, a video was shown to encourage couples to discuss the division of household and care tasks during pregnancy while in the control condition this video was not shown. We investigated whether it would contribute to a more egalitarian division of tasks after the birth of their child.

Across the measurement waves, the dataset contains many measures including the division of household, care, and paid-work tasks; desired division of tasks; expected division of tasks; perceived fairness of the division of tasks; perceived competence as an (expecting) parent; social norms; and support from the participants’ social network and relevant professionals, including maternity care providers and midwives [for detailed overview of the measures, see codebook excel].
