Data set of heat wave and drought indicators in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River from 1961 to 2020

Based on daily temperature and precipitation observation data from 1961 to 2020 in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, through data screening, quality testing, and outlier removal, the heat wave index and the number of consecutive days without effective precipitation were used as discrimination criteria to calculate the number of days, frequency, and longest duration of heat waves and drought at each station.

The data values of each indicator were sorted and statistically analyzed by time period and province to obtain the heat wave and drought indicator dataset in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It consists of 6 data files and 1 related drawing. For the convenience of further processing and application, the data results are stored in. xls format files, all of which are named after the data category.
