HT29 sferoids in agarose gel

Spheroids from colon cancer cells (HT29) were prepared using U-bottom 96-well plates, and after 3 days of growth, these were collected, washed in PBS, and added to the gel mixture. A culture medium was added on top of the gels containing spheroids, and they were left at 37°C overnight or for several days to verify any interaction between spheroids and agarose.

The size of the spheroids was checked by using optical microscopy, and interestingly the spheroids kept growing in the agarose gel, and they modified the surrounding area.
