Impact of Laptop Usage on Dizziness, Vertigo and Balance in Adults

Listed in Teesside University Research Data Repository

The proliferation of laptop usage among adults has surged dramatically worldwide in the past two decades.

Description

Adults have increasingly relied on laptops for information exchange, communication, and work-related tasks, particularly since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. This heavy reliance on laptops has had significant implications for both mental and physical health.

Consequently, this study seeks to investigate the impact of laptop usage on adults' balance, dizziness, and vertigo. A total of thirty-one participants were allocated into two groups based on specific criteria. The study assessed dizziness using the Dizziness Handicap Inventory Questionnaire (DHI) and the Fukuda Stepping Test (FST), vertigo using the FST, and balance using the Balance Error Scoring System (BESS).
