Description
Semi-structured interview outlines were developed for BYD’s middle and senior managers, technical R&D personnel, and external partners, focusing on BYD’s standardization strategy, technological innovation path, standard cooperation process, and external collaboration mechanisms. Relevant literature.
Academic studies related to BYD’s technological innovation, standardization, corporate strategy, and the new energy vehicle industry were collected from databases such as CNKI and Web of Science. Corporate annual reports. BYD’s annual reports, financial reports, and related announcements from 2003 to 2025 were compiled to trace changes in the company’s operations, R&D investment, and technological layout.

Relevant policies. New energy vehicle policy documents from government agencies and authoritative databases were collected to contextualize the institutional environment and industrial background of BYD’s development. Selected books.
Books related to BYD’s development history, corporate strategy, and technological innovation philosophy were compiled. Relevant standards. National, industry, and group standards related to or involving BYD were collected to analyze the company’s standard cooperation and standardization practices.
Selected web reports and stage division materials. Materials from BYD’s official website, official WeChat account, authoritative media reports, major event records, and development-stage division documents were compiled to identify key milestones, technological innovation activities, and stage-based evolutionary characteristics.
