Be careful about the composition of the food and the dosages applied, these being crucial factors for the effectiveness of the as in vivo. The strain Listeria monocytogenes (ATCC 7644) was extremely sensitive to oil when evaluated by the solid medium diffusion method. This was confirmed by the low MIC and CBM values.
In the study conducted in the food matrix, it was possible to verify the effectiveness for suspensions of bacteria containing4.6 x 104 CFU/mL. It was not possible to inhibit the growth of suspensions 1.5 x 108 CFU / mL, which may be related to the interaction between the oil and the food matrix.
