Firearms Tracing System (FTS) Files

The agency and federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies used these files to identify suspects, establish ownership, and to determine the status of a weapon. This series contains firearms trace data including the make, model, type, and caliber of firearm; persons requesting the trace; the type of crime; possessor of the weapon at the time of recovery, the place of recovery, a nd interstate theft information.
