Representative IHC images TH (red)/α-syn (green)/Iba1 (purple) (B). IHC analysis shows the total number of TH(+) neurons (C), area of α-syn accumulation in TH(+) neurons (D) and the number of Iba1(+) microglia in the SNpc (E) expressed as % of sham.
Raw values for sham (i.e., 100%); TH(+) neurons = 65 ± 1.6; α-syn area/TH(+) neuron = 168 ± 9.4 µm<sup>2</sup>; Iba1(+) cells = 53 ± 2.8. Each bar represents the mean ± SEM, one-way ANOVA followed by Fisher’s test. <sup>##</sup>p < 0.01 or <sup>####</sup>p < 0.0001 from sham; **p < 0.01; ***p < 0.001 and ****p < 0.0001 from α-syn+vehicle injury, (n = 7 mice / group).</p>
