Hail-Swath and Cold-Pool Observations with CU RAAVEN UAS

Listed in National Center for Atmospheric Research

Description

Aerial footage and state parameters from hail swath survey flights conducted by the University of Colorado Boulder RAAVEN (Robust Autonomous Airborne Vehicle - Endurant and Nimble) uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) as it was deployed in and around hailstorms during the 2025 In-situ Collaborative Experiment for Collection of Hail In the Plains (ICECHIP) field campaign. The state parameters include position, temperature, relative humidity, static pressure and winds.

There were front-facing and downward-facing cameras on the aircraft. There is also ground-level footage from a tracker vehicle.
