Echinodermata Phylum Collection (Class Ophiuroidea, Echinoidea and Holothuroidea) of the Zoology Museum, University of Concepción

The type material included in this dataset comprises one holotype of the species Gracilechinus multidentatus; six neotypes of the species Arbacia dufresnii, Arbacia spatuligera, Arbacia nigra, Loxechinus albus, Pseudechinus magellanicus and Tripylaster philippii; and seven paratypes of the species Gracilechinus multidentatus. For the creation of this resource, specimen data were initially recorded in the museum’s internal database and subsequently standardized following the Darwin Core (DwC) format.

During this process, data consistency was reviewed, and taxonomic nomenclature was updated when necessary, using the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS) “Taxon Match” tool. Geographic information was also validated to ensure that each specimen is associated with verifiable latitude and longitude coordinates. Finally, the dataset was validated using the GBIF data validator and the R package obistools prior to publication.
