Description
<p>The quantitative fit of the published secretion model [<a href="ploscompbiol.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pcbi.1014832#pcbi.1014832.ref003" target="_blank">3</a>] was improved using more detailed <i>in vitro</i> data and better parameter tuning methods based on recent work applying the model to oxytocin neurons [<a href="ploscompbiol.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pcbi.1014832#pcbi.1014832.ref026" target="_blank">26</a>].
The model is fitted to data measuring both frequency facilitation (top panel) and fatigue (lower panel), simulating the in vitro experimental protocols. The changed parameters are given in the table. The major adjustment was to reduce α which scales the rate of secretion to units of pg.</p>
