Forest Logging, May 2025

Major investigated questions: respondents were asked whether they agree or disagree with the statement that forest logging is a relevant problem in Lithuania. It was examined what the forest means to respondents (Biological diversity (habitats of plants and animals); Spiritual values, aesthetics, beauty; 11 in total).

Respondents were asked what share of Lithuania’s forests, in their opinion, allows commercial forestry aimed at timber production, and what share of forests in protected areas, in their opinion, allows commercial forestry aimed at timber production. It was also examined to what extent respondents agree or disagree with the statement that the area of recreational forests in state forests should be increased, even if this would reduce budget revenues obtained from forests.
