A key to separate the five Mexican species, and illustrations of the male genitalia of these species and of the head and pronotum of the new species are provided. Resumen.— Se describe e ilustra una especie nueva para el género Arvelius Spinola, recolectado en la reserva de la Biosfera Sierra de Huautla, Morelos, México; SE incluye una clave para la separación de las cinco especies distribuidas en México; ilustrándose la genitalia de todas las especies; cabeza y pronoto de la especie nueva.

Key Words: Arvelius, new species, description, Huautla, Mexico Brailovsky (1981), in his revision of the genus Arvelius Spinola, described 11 new species from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Colombia, Guyana, Brazil, Ecuador, Perú, and Argentina, thus bringing the total to 17. In Mexico the genus is representated by four species, A. albopunctatus (De Geer), A. porrectispinus Breddin, A. tecpanus Brailovsky, and A. tuxtlaensis Brailovsky.
Members of this genus are inhabitants of foliage and fruits of Solanaceae or leaves of Graminae and Piperaceae. The host plant of the new species is unknown.
