Morphometric Dataset of Spatially Organized Micro-White Markings in Tail-Base Feathers of the Copper Pheasant (<i>Syrmaticus soemmerringii</i>)

Across all four analyzed feathers, the micro-white marking centroids occurred within the manually delineated dark-brown pigment fields.</p><p dir="ltr">The dataset includes integrated measurement tables, coordinate-model comparisons, two-dimensional spatial analyses, summary figures, a data dictionary, metadata, and reproducible Python code.</p><p dir="ltr">These observations should be regarded as exploratory rather than population-level evidence because the dataset comprises four feathers from only two specimens, with feathers from the same specimen representing non-independent within-individual observations.

Quantitative area and circularity measurements are currently available only for P1 and P2. In addition, the original polygon vertices of the manually delineated dark-brown regions were not retained; consequently, analyses referring to the center of the dark-brown field use the center of its coordinate extent rather than the true polygon area centroid.</p><p dir="ltr">The dataset is intended to support further investigation of fine-scale spatial organization, positional variation, and pigmentation patterning in avian feathers.</p>
