<p dir="ltr">This update of the evidence is part of a larger series of reviews aimed at summarizing the scope and breadth of high-level evidence within pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) over the past two decades anchored by the seminal review by Marin et al. in 2016.
Description
This foundational review helped to define the field of PEM POCUS by establishing standard reporting guidelines and summarizing the body of literature at that time with respect to strengths, limitations, and guidance on future research investigations.
The evidence for PEM POCUS has evolved significantly over the past decade since that review, with more prospective studies being published. As such, this updated review by PEM POCUS experts will reappraise the evidence base over the past two decades for the most common and clinically important subtopics within one specific clinical domain: soft tissue and musculoskeletal (MSK) POCUS.</p>
