Survey Data on Product-Related Stigma and Wheelchair Morphological Semantics among Elderly Users

The data were collected in two phases. Phase 1: Semantic evaluation data.** Participants with relevant expertise evaluated representative wheelchair samples using a Semantic Differential scale across multiple stigma-related semantic dimensions.

Scores were standardized and aggregated into a Stigma Strength Score (SSS) for each sample, which was used to classify wheelchairs into high-, medium-, and low-stigma conditions. Phase 2: Field behavioral experiment data.** A naturalistic field experiment was conducted in a public space using a single-confederate design with wheelchair stimuli of differing stigma levels. The dataset includes valid pedestrian observations of behavioral avoidance, operationalized as Minimum Lateral Distance (MLD) recorded by a radar system, and valid emotional response records derived from facial analysis software, coded as negative, neutral, or positive.
