Study of the Relationships between Spiritual Health and Stress, Depression Tendency and Health-promoting Behavior

Spiritual health status was significantly negatively correlated with practice stress and depressive tendency but positively associated with health promotion behaviors. Spiritual health status was the significant predictor of practice stress, depressive tendency and health promotion behaviors after controlling socio-demographic characteristics and situational variables. Preliminary data from this study indicated that spiritual health status could be regarded as a protective factor, an ability of adaptation, a source of social support, and a power to guide people to a meaningful life.

It can be an essential factor to influence practice stress, depressive tendency and health promotion behaviors among nursing college students in Taiwan.
