Description
Column -B = number of behavioral interactions between female one day BEFORE her estrus and sexually mature male(s) Column-C = number of behavioral interactions between female ON DAY OF her estrus and sexually mature male(s) Column-D = number of behavioral interactions between female one day AFTER her estrus and sexually mature male(s) Column-A = Nyanzol marker for each UPD female--but no information on eartags.
All data from 1996 from all 15 UPDS for which I have good information on behavioral interactions and copulations Similar patterns occurred every year for all four species. This file has been checked TWO TIMES on 26 Oct 2020 Notice that this file includes Nyanzol markers for UPD females--but no information on eartags. Interactions include both amicable interactions (kisses, sniffs, allogroomings) and hostile interactions (fights, chases, runaways, territorial disputes) MOST of the interactions were hostile.

UPD data are from females that we could easily see for three consecutive days (day before, day of, and day after estrus) Data in Fig 15.12 come from daily observations from focal observations of different females All data on the same line are for a single estrous female Blank cell = missing data In this file, no information from eartags, but each line is for a single female with a unique Nyanzol marker These data used for Figure 15.12 in Hoogland 2026.
This file ready for longterm storage on 19 May 2026 Data in Fig 15.12 come from daily observations from focal observations of different females Fig 15.12 for UPDs uses data from a single year only (1996), but I observed this same pattern every year.
