A second species of the leafhopper genus Parocerus Vilbaste, 1980, Parocerus lii Zhang sp. nov., is described and illustrated from Qinghai Province, northwestern China. The new species is compared with the type species, P. laurifoliae (Vilbaste, 1965), based on external and male genitalic characters. Both species occur on poplar (Populus sp.).
In addition, a checklist of the genus and a key to species of Parocerus are provided to facilitate identification.
