Legal change and social structure: the politics of law in eastern Sudan

This study addresses issues surrounding the relationship between law and social change.
Description
A combined analysis of formal as well as informal structures is used, to bring into relief the political edge of law. This study is as much concerned with the unequal social relationships of local society as with local use and control of the legal system.
