National Core Library Statistics Program Data

The National Core Library Statistics Program was a collaboration between the National Library of Canada and various library associations and agencies; data were collected for the survey years 1994, 1995, 1996, and 1999, before the Program was dissolved after the publication of the 1999 statistical report in 2002.

The original National Core Library Statistics Program SPSS 11.0 data file (SPSS .sav format), submitted to the National Library of Canada in 2001, has 133 variables and 2,050 cases, encompassing the four survey years of the Program. The National Core Library Statistics Program SPSS codebook (Portable Document Format; 80 pages) was generated from the National Core Library Statistics Program SPSS data file using SPSS’s built-in codebook report feature.
