LBBG_TEXEL - Lesser black-backed gulls (Larus fuscus, Laridae) breeding in Texel (the Netherlands)

Data are uploaded from the UvA-BiTS database to Movebank and from there archived on Zenodo (see github.com/inbo/bird-tracking ). Data collected since 2021 are not publicly available. These data were collected by the University of Amsterdam (UvA) in collaboration with the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ).

Management of UvA-BiTS field stations and tracker settings was supported by Willem Bouten and Edwin Baaij. Permission to work in the colony was granted by Staatsbosbeheer Texel. The research infrastructure was supported by LifeWatch, SURF Foundation and the Dutch national e-science centre (NLeSC) and carried out on the Dutch national e-infrastructure with the support of SURF Cooperative.

The dataset was published with funding from Stichting NLBIF - Netherlands Biodiversity Information Facility. Data have been standardized to Darwin Core using the movepub R package and are subsampled to the first GPS position per hour. The original data are available in Shamoun-Baranes et al.
