2020 Census PUMAs Final

The boundaries for these PUMAs were delineated based on population counts for California counties and tracts from the 2020 Census. The Demographic Research Unit worked with California State Data Center affiliates and regional organizations to ensure that the PUMAs reflect local communities.

PUMAs Public Use Microdata Areas (PUMAs) are non-overlapping, statistical geographic areas that partition each state or equivalent entity into geographic areas containing no fewer than 100,000 people each. They cover the entirety of the United States.
