Data for: A Validated White Cast Scoring Method for Mineral Sunscreens

No official method exists to quantify white cast, and consumer compliance with sunscreen application depends largely on its cosmetic elegance. Therefore, designing mineral sunscreens for diverse skin tones that are cosmetically elegant is a challenge.

The published study presents a validated white cast scoring protocol that combines objective L* value measurements with subjective consumer feedback to provide a quantitative approach for evaluating the cosmetic elegance of mineral sunscreens across diverse skin tones. The available data are the results of our in vitro and in vivo protocols, which are presented as L* values to measure whiteness and subjective data from the volunteers' demographics and their thoughts on white cast from mineral sunscreens.
