EDIA – Global Bird Monitoring Program of the Alqueva Dam (EFMA) Secondary Irrigation Network, Irrigation (Block A: Alvito-Pisão) and Cuba IBA: Bird Atlas [spring/winter 2018-2019]

The dataset contains records of all birds collected in the are of the Secondary Irrigation Network of the Alqueva Dam (Block A: Alvito-Pisão), in the Important Bird Area (IBA) of Cuba and in a distant control zone, in the framework of a “Bird Atlas” performed within the General Bird Monitoring Plan of the area, promoted by EDIA, S.A. Data were collected in the spring and winters of 2018-2019, in 178 sampling squares of 1x1 km (UTM grid), distributed in the area affected by the Irrigation Block (152 “impact” squares) and in a control area (26 “control” squares), stratified by habitat.

A total of 21067 contacts was obtained, for 108 species of birds.
