Doodsoorzaken van personen die bij overlijden inwoners waren van Nederland

Daarnaast is voor de personen die overleden zijn aan een niet-natuurlijke dood ook het belangrijkste letsel en de locatie van het ongeval opgenomen. Bij alle overledenen is daarbij ook de locatie van overlijden en het statistiekjaar, oftewel het jaar waarin de overledene is opgenomen in de statistiek, aanwezig in deze component.

The data is based on the compulsory notification of cause of death by the physician treating the deceased at the time of death or by a pathologist. For every death a cause-of-death form is completed, which is sent, together with the death certificate to the population registration in the municipality in which the death took place. The cause-of-death form, which is used exclusively for statistical purposes, is subsequently sent to Statistics Netherlands.
