TIPHE: Tumor Innervation Phenotypes H&E Dataset for Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

The dataset comprises 85 de-identified H&E-stained whole-slide images with pixel-level annotations of tumor epithelium and nerve structures, PNI-positive nerve masks where applicable, and valid-region masks for image-quality information.

Tumor–nerve relationships are further annotated using three morphological categories: N1, tumor cells identified within the nerve structure; N2, direct tumor–nerve contact without tumor cells identified within the nerve structure; and N3, visible separation between tumor and nerve structures without direct contact. These N1–N3 categories describe morphological tumor–nerve relationships and are distinct from the separate pathological assessment of perineural invasion (PNI).
