A new taxon of the Pterourus menatius complex from West Ecuador (Lepidoptera: Papilionidae)

The relationships with other Colombian populations as well as with other taxa of the Pterourus menatius complex are discussed in the light of recent molecular results. The Colombian subspecies levis and timana both described by Winhard (2012) fall within the variability of the populations belonging to ssp. syndemis Tyler, K.S. Brown &Wilson, 1994, and are hereby synonymized.
