The Relationships between Internationalization Driving Forces and International Network Construction

Listed in Harvard Dataverse

Applying network theory, this research tries to exploit the affecting factors of internationalization models and conclude the differentiation of international network construction among various internationalization models.

Description

Because America and Mainland China were the major foreign investment area for Taiwanese corporations, this research selected those had foreign investment in America or Mainland as research samples. The list of Top 1000 Firms, compiled by the Common Wealth Magazine based on sale volumes in 2001, was a good source for sampling firms, for they accounted for a large amount of sales.

Among these 1000 firms, 550 of them had foreign investment in America or Mainland, thus qualifying them to be respondents to this study. This research adopted a qualitative approach (i.e., case analysis) firstly. The research hypotheses were then derived based on four cases analysis and literature review.
