Total vehicles registered in the ACT

This dataset provides the total numbers of vehicles registered in the ACT as at the first day of each month by their motive power.
Description
Motive power in this case indicates the fuel source of the vehicle. These data are used to track the uptake of Zero Emissions Vehicles in the ACT.
The following changes have been made: a) Heavy and light vehicles without motive power was reclassified in May 2023 under the vehicle category of 'Trailers'. b) The vehicle category ‘Trailers’ was refined in May 2024 with the creation of the Heavy and Light Trailers vehicle categories. c) The dataset was corrected and re-uploaded on 22 July 2025.
