Ground Operations Reporting System (GORS) Files for the Army of the Republic of South Vietnam

The agency created GORS to monitor all ground combat operations involving large scale (battalion size or greater) armed forces of the Republic of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War.

Description

This series contains information on ground combat missions involving military units of the Army of the Republic of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Each friendly operation is recorded separately with operation name, initiation time, termination time, and the numbers of material lost and friendly forces k illed, wounded or missing.

Enemy initiated incidents are recorded by the time and date of the incident, the location, the type of incident, and the results. The series also includes a section on the strengths of the units. This data comprises government records extracted from the Archival Research Catalog (ARC).
