Environmental DNA metabarcoding in ecological status assessment: Agreement and bias relative to traditional fish-based evaluations

This dataset includes fish assemblage data obtained using environmental DNA metabarcoding and electrofishing, along with ecological quality ratio (EQR) and ecological quality class (EQC) for sampling sites, used in the study “Environmental DNA metabarcoding in ecological status assessment: Agreement and bias relative to traditional fish-based evaluations”. The eDNA data are provided in two forms. eDNA_original_data.csv contains the original taxonomic assignments and sequencing read data obtained after bioinformatic processing, whereas eDNA_filtered_data.csv contains the curated eDNA dataset after applying the taxonomic filtering procedures described in the study.

The curated dataset was used for later analyses.
