Semantic representation of the Registos de Baptismos da Paróquia de Aldoar (Porto, Portugal)

The original EAD XML file represents the raw archival data, which was subsequently processed through a data extraction script. This extraction parsed the original elements to obtain more granular information, enhancing the semantic detail of the records.

The edited XML file, enriched with this granular data, was then processed using the RiC-O Converter by customising the main EAD-to-RiC-O XSLT stylesheet. This RDF representation aligns the archival data with RiC-O, facilitating semantic interoperability and integration within the Linked Open Data (LOD) ecosystem. The images represent how the main phenomena in the data can be represented in both RiC-O and ArchOnto, the ontology developed within the EPISA project based on the CIDOC CRM model.
