In order to measure the holiday behaviour of the Dutch population, the Ongoing Holiday Survey - CVO makes use of a large panel of individuals from a cross-section of the Dutch population.
Description
Four times each year respondents receive a questionnaire. In March questions are asked about the period December-February, in June about March-May, in September about June-August and in December about September-November.
The definition of holiday is understood as being away from home for relaxation or pleasure for at least one night. A distinction is made between short, medium and long holidays. The data of the previous holiday surveys held between 1969-1983 are also available: see studynumbers: P0050 P0631 P0632 P0660 P0691 P0692 P0693 P0694 P0695 P0696 P0697 P0698 P0699 P0811 P0812
