Measurements of oceanic carbon dioxide made during the Belgica 9714D research cruise in the Bay of Biscay in the North-East Atlantic, as part of the JGOFS and the OMEX programmes, in July 1997

Listed in NASA Earthdata CMR

This metadata entry refers to measurements of oceanic carbon dioxide made by Michel Frankignoulle during the Belgica 9714D research cruise in the Bay of Biscay, North-East Atlantic as part of the Joint Global Ocean Flux Study (JGOFS) and the Ocean Margin EXchange (OMEX) programmes.

Description

The cruise began on 2nd July 1997 and ended on 7th July 1997 with a spatial coverage of +47N to +48N latitude and +7W longitude. The data consists of: -44 measurements of partial pressure of carbon dioxide (pCO2) in the water column, computed from pH and alkalinity; and -44 measurements of concentration of carbon (total inorganic) (TCO2) per unit volume of the water column (dissolved plus reactive particulate phase), computed from pH and alkalinity.
