Dataset for: Formation mechanism, multi-stage evolution, and exploration significance of bedding-parallel fractures in continental shales: A review and new insights from the Gulong Sag, Songliao Basin, Northeast China

This dataset supports the figures presented in the paper titled "Formation mechanism, multi-stage evolution, and exploration significance of bedding-parallel fractures in continental shales: A review and new insights from the Gulong Sag, Songliao Basin, Northeast China." The data were obtained from drilling and logging data of the Gulong Sag in the Songliao Basin. Data processing and analysis were performed using multiple linear regression.

The dataset consists of three Excel files: (1) Data for the relationship between bedding-parallel fractures and mineral content; (2) Data for the relationship between bedding-parallel fractures and formation pressure; (3) Data for the relationship between bedding-parallel fractures and TOC and Ro. TOC refers to total organic carbon content, and Ro refers to vitrinite reflectance. This dataset can serve as a valuable reference for researchers working on fracture development characteristics in continental shales and shale oil/gas exploration.
