Significance of the association between age effects from the two datasets was assessed using 10,000 spatial autocorrelation-preserving permutation tests (i.e., spin test). <i>r</i>_s denotes Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient. Linear regression line is added for visualization purposes only.

Additionally, the spatial overlap between regions with significant age effects after FDR correction was quantified using Dice score. To assess the statistical significance of the between-dataset spatial overlap, spin tests were used to generate a null distribution of Dice scores (10,000 repetitions). The empirical Dice score was then compared to the null distribution of scores to calculate a <i>p</i>-value for the spatial overlap.
