Checklist of introduced taxa in Romania

It contains information on 824 introduced animal and plant taxa occurring in Romania, spanning two kingdoms (Animalia, 458 taxa; Plantae, 366) and 11 phyla, and covering the terrestrial (686 taxa), freshwater (87) and marine (73) realms. These species were detected between 1778 and 2026.

The inventory updates and expands the GRIIS Romania register from 615 to 824 taxa, and includes 32 Invasive Alien Species of Union concern under EU Regulation 1143/2014, of which 28 are currently present in Romania and 4 are failed introductions or doubtful. Here it is published as a standardized Darwin Core Archive and includes for each species: the accepted scientific name, classification and stable taxon identifier (in the taxon core), the year of first reporting and last assessment, its occurrence status, means and degree of establishment and pathway of introduction in Romania (in the distribution extension), coarse habitat information (in the species profile extension) and the native range(s) (in the description extension).
