Panel Study of Income Dynamics Files (PSID)

This series contains longitudinal survey data on the determinants of family income for over 7,000 families. The same families were interviewed each year and data were collected on the family as a unit and on each individual in the family.

While focusing on the employment and income situation of each family, the data also cover: composition of the family, housing, expenditure s and consumption, health, education, religion, race, geographic mobility, and attitudes. Other information includes: employment, income, housing, car ownership, food expenditures and other purchases, transportation, do-it-yourself home maintenance and car repairs, education, disabilities, time-use, family background, and the personality and attitudes of the interviewees.
