Defense Energy Information System (DEIS) Files

The agency used these files to provide reliable and objective information on its inventory, consumption, resupply, and sale of bulk petroleum products; the inventory and consumption of coal, propane, and liquefied natural gas; and the consumption of all utility energy.
Description
The files were also used to determine energy use and conservation achievements. This series consists of two subseries: DEIS-I and DEIS-II.
DEIS-I files contain information on the inventory, consumption, resupply, and sale of bulk petroleum products throughout the Department of Defense. DEIS-I files also contain information on all Defense Logistics Agency-owned petroleum products in transit. DEIS-II files contain information on inventories of bulk petroleum products and inventory and consumption of coal, propane, and liquefied natural gas and the consumption of all utility energy (electricity, natural gas, propane, butane, coal, fuel oil and purchased steam and hot water).
