Robinson E-Petitions and Academic Freedom in Higher Education Dataset 2026

This dataset contains 416 PDFs of e-petitions hosted on websites like Change.org, google.docs, Care2Petition, petitions.net, and actionnetwork.org that were opened for signature between 2014 and 2024 and demanded or opposed the sanctioning of faculty at universities in United States.
Description
(There are gaps in the numbering because Canadian cases that had been included in the original dataset have been removed.) The e-petition PDFs have been coded using code definitions that are explained in an Excel file within this folder.
The data set also contains three SPSS files that were created based on the coded PDFs. The Excel file also explains how key aspects of the analysis were performed.
