The bivalve mollusc Calyptogena pacifica (Vesicomyidae: Pliocardiinae) is widely distributed in reducing environments at the bathyal depths in the North Pacific.

Description

In the Bering Sea, the species inhabits methane seeps on the Koryak slope and hydrothermal vents on the Piip Volcano separated by a distance of 800 km.
