Description
This paper aims to discuss the issue of a human rights-based approach to humanitarian assistance in the context of internal displacement and whether it could serve as a tool in empowering internally displaced women and furthermore, how women could move from being victims towards being active participants in development processes. The question what is the added value that the human rights-based approach can bring to humanitarian assistance as well as the concept of empowerment will be further examined in this paper.
