" The potato psyllid (Bactericera cockerelli) and Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum (CaLso) have become the most economically significant phytosanitary issues for potatoes and other cultivated Solanaceae in the countries where they have been reported, and they are considered quarantine pests (Castillo & Llumiquinga, 2021). B. cockerelli is a polyphagous insect known as the potato and tomato psyllid and belongs to the Triozidae family of the Hemiptera order.
It is distributed in North, Central, and recently in South America in Ecuador and Colombia. Additionally, in Oceania. It mainly affects economically significant Solanaceae such as potatoes, tomatoes, and other wild Solanaceae (EPPO,2023).

B. cockerelli causes two types of damage: direct and indirect. Direct damage is primarily caused by nymphs feeding on plant sap and secreting toxins. Indirect damage is even more concerning as B. cockerelli is a vector for the bacterium Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum (CaLso) (Gamarra et al., 2022).
CLso has been reported in countries across all five continents (EPPO, 2023). This report aims to provide information on the presence of B. cockerelli and Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum (CaLso) in four regions in northern and central Peru."
