Two new species of the genus, Protracheoniscus flavus Jiang and Li, sp. n. and P. curvatus Jiang and Li, sp. n., are described as new to science, and P. nivalis Verhoeff is redescribed as a new record for the Chinese fauna.

Mongoloniscus hummeli Verhoeff, comb. n. and M. bocki Verhoeff, comb. n. (transferred from Protracheoniscus) are proposed. A key to the Chinese Protracheoniscus species is provided and the collection localities of the genus in China are mapped.
