Description
I created this file from file = BGUW, Cop summaries from Jessica, 14 Oct 2020 This file has been checked TWO TIMES--for the following variables: Female, Num MCers, MC number, Mean MC length, and also Mincops, 1stCopMC, 2ndCopMC, 3rdCopMC, 4thCopMC, and 5thCopMC Data for 4SRS in 2010 changed on 18 Nov 2020 (Case 112) Case 112 now includes single MC of 0.5 min by male-36. The other many variables, all entered by Jessica Majors, have NOT yet been checked NOT ALL of Jessica's variables are shown in this EXCEL file.
On 21 Nov 2020 I add data from BS in 2010 (1 MC of 1 min--by SECOND MALE to copulate (45)) On 21 Nov 2020 I add data for 66 in 2012 (5 MCs vs 4)--no change on effect of MCs vs order of copping males Note that I incorporated new data for 4SRS on 18 Nov 2020 For each WTPD female, this file contains the Nyanzol marker and the eartags Note well: As for BTPDS, GPDs, and UPDs, this file contains data from many WTPD females that did not elicit a single mating call These data used for Fig 16.2 and 16.3 in Hoogland 2026.

This file ready for longterm storage on 21 March 2025. I considered data from the same prairie dog in different years to be independent. Number of males that gave MC = number of different males that gave at least one MC Cumulative number of separate MCs for each female = total, cumulative number of MCs for each estrous female Mean length of each MC = mean length of all MC's for a single estrous female (mins) Remember: Many females did not elicit a single MC (i.e., Cumulative number of MCs = 0) MC = Mating Call Two mating calls were not considered separate unless they were separated by >=30 seconds.
MC = Mating call Cop = copulation Each female could have SEVERAL lengths of each MC if she elicited several MCs--but she could have only ONE Cumulative time for all MCs for each single female Each female also could have only one Mean duration of MCs (see Fig 16.4). All lengths are in MINUTES. File name = Figs 16.2 and 16.3, WTPDs, Mating Call, Details, 23 May 2026
