Approaching Dielectric Silicon Slot Waveguides for THz Frequencies by Simulation From Optical and Electrical Points of View

The Beam Propagation Method (BPM) is a well known approach in photonics, which has only recently been proven to also work in the THz domain.
Description
Here, software from radio and mm-wave frequencies are predominant such as for example CST Studio. In this dataset we compare BeamPROP simulations using BPM to widespread CST Studio simulations performed via Finite Element Method, highlighting advantages and drawbacks of both approaches while focussing specifically on the lesser known BPM for THz researchers.
