The Relationship Between Vibration and Shape: A Study on Visual-Tactile Cross-Modal Correspondences

Listed in Teesside University Research Data Repository

Description

The vibration frequencies and amplitudes corresponding to triangles, quadrilaterals, and pentagons are higher than those of circles and hexagons. Negative correlation between shape roundness and vibration amplitude: More circular shapes were associated with lower amplitudes. Non-linear relationship between roundness and frequency: Roundness decreased initially with increasing frequency but then increased at higher frequencies.
