Significance of specialty protein ingredients in feeding programs for broiler chickens on nitrogen utilization and excretion-A meta-analysis

Listed in Borealis

This meta-analysis tackled the challenge of improving nitrogen utilization and reducing nitrogen excretion in broiler production through the strategic use of specialty protein ingredients.

Description

Conventional broiler feeding programs often rely heavily on standard protein sources, but inefficient protein digestion and amino acid utilization can increase nitrogen losses, environmental burden, and feed inefficiency. The study therefore evaluated whether specialty protein ingredients can improve nitrogen retention, support broiler performance, and reduce nitrogen output.
